My name is Diane Maio. I am a staff member at Guilford before and after school care program. I have been with the program since 2014. l am also employed by Guilford Public schools a kindergarten Para-educator. I have three children, Brittney who is 25 years old and resides in Virginia and is currently going through the sheriffs Academy. Brandon who is 21, and has just completed his junior hockey career in Canada and is now employed by the town of Hamden and Alexa who is 19 , and is a student at Southern Connecticut State University studying sociology and criminal justice. In my spare time I enjoy going shopping, spending time with my family and friends and especially going to the beach! I have been a Guilford resident for the past 28 years.

I have been working for the Before and After Care program for 6 years and am really enjoying it! I have always loved kids and started babysitting when I was a teenager. Outside of work I love to get together with friends and family. I also, love to go for long rides, especially during the fall foliage.

My name is Sabrina Mone, I am a sophomore at Southern Connecticut State University. I am going to school to be an elementary school teacher! When I’m not at work or school I enjoy spending time with friends and family.

Hi, my name is Tom Huben. I have been working for the Guilford afterschool program since 1997. I got my master’s degree in 1997 from Sacred Heart University. I grew up in Guilford, but I’ve lived my adulthood in Branford. At the after-school program, I mostly enjoy doing gym games with the children and teaching them speed stacking and the Rubik‘s cube. My favorite children’s book to read is Yertle the Turtle by Dr Seuss. Outside of work, I enjoy visiting the different baseball stadiums. I have now seen a home game for every team in Major league baseball.

Hello, I’m Gail and I’ve lived in Guilford for over 20 years. I bring a lifetime of experience, care, and joy to my work. After retiring in 2023, I joined the Before & After School Care program at Calvin Leete, where I find each day both fun and rewarding. I am a proud mother of four and grandmother to ten! I love spending my free time with my grandchildren and my dog, Ozzie.

Hi! I grew up in the Pittsburgh area and moved to CT in 1970. I have 2 sons, 2 stepsons and 4 grandchildren. Soon after retiring as a language arts teacher at GHS, I began subbing in the GCC BASC Program. I enjoy the energy of elementary school age children, as well as their views on life. One of the most gratifying aspects of my job with BASC is working with so many children of my former students!

Hi! My name is Lindsey Smith and I work the aftercare program at Calvin Leete Elementary School. I am also a social worker in the community. I’m passionate about supporting and being there for others and I bring that into all I do. Outside of work I love going for walks on the beach and spending time with my family. The before and aftercare program is a wonderful program and I am so happy to be a part of it!

Hi my name is Gina Whitmore. I have two sons. I enjoy cooking and love spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy the beach and the ocean. I work at Guilford Lakes with the before and after school program. I love the children and I think our program is fantastic! We all work together to make sure our program is a safe and fun place to be.

Hello, my name is Krista and I live in Branford and have been working at GCC since October
2021. I work at the Lakes (and sometimes Leete) before and after school care program as well
as in the early ed program as a teacher aide and kitchen helper. I enjoy interacting with the kids
and all the funny conversations that come along the way as well as introducing fun activities in
the school aged setting. I strive to be a kind and compassionate face to the students, families
and fellow teachers. Outside of work, I love to read, spend time with friends and loved ones,
and be with my cat Sage. I have traveled to some fun places as well, my favorites being Finland
and Arizona.

Hi, my name is Lori OSullivan. I have been working for GCC BASC for 5 years. Before joining The Guilford Lakes team, I was the owner of Kids World Home Daycare for many years. I love working with children. Doing arts & crafts, playing games, singing and being silly. On my free time I like spending time with my friends and family. I have 3 grandchildren, 2 girls and 1 boy. They are my pride and joy. I also like to go to shows, walking and baking treats. Working at Guilford Before and Aftercare is a pleasure for me.

I have lived in Guilford for the last 45 years. I have 2 adult daughters and 4 grandchildren. I have worked as a recess aide and a lunch aide and now, for the Before and After School program, which I find very rewarding. I have worked at Guilford Lakes school so I know a lot of the children and they know me. It's a great program and I'm happy to be a part of it!

Adaline Graver (Addie) is a first-year staff member on the GCC BASC crew! Apart from being a counselor, Addie enjoys baking, running, and spending time outside. This fall, Addie will be attending the University of Connecticut and is very excited about working this summer!

I was born and raised in Guilford, recently graduated from the University of Connecticut, and will be attending Southern Connecticut State University for my Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Outside of work and being a student, I love to read and spend time with my family!

Hi! My name is Cathy. My husband and I were both born and raised in Guilford. We have two grown children that I had the privilege of staying home with when they were young. For the last nine years I have been working at Calvin Leete as a kindergarten para and office para, joining the GCC BASC Summer Camp team last year. Working with children has always been fun and energizing to me; I love seeing kids being kids, learning, growing and having fun. When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with my family, walking my dog, cooking, puzzles and catching live local music with friends. Anyone that knows me knows that I never stop singing!
